usage vs pace

Was the Codex reset worth it?

Compare the quota a full reset restored with the seven-day clock it restarted. No login. No hidden score. Just your /status numbers.

reset edge used % elapsed % positive = ahead of weekly pace

Reset event

“Tibo reset” is a community nickname for a global goodwill reset. This site does not predict or trigger one.

simulate a full reset now strong edge

usage is ahead of the clock

WORTH IT

+85 pp net pace edge

The restored quota outweighs the reset-clock delay.

break-even usage 15% you were 85 pp above break-even
without this reset limit already reached the old window had no usable quota left

Quota spent vs. week spent

6.67× pace
weekly time elapsed 15%
weekly quota used 100%

You used 85 percentage points more quota than a linear weekly pace.

restored now 100% quota already consumed
clock pushed back 15% 1d 1h of a week
old reset Sat, Aug 15 in 5d 23h
new reset Sun, Aug 16 in 7d
pace-equivalent gain +5d 23h
projected limit hit already reached
100% used − 15% elapsed = +85 pp

separate decision

When should I use a banked reset?

A banked reset is user-controlled. It restores both windows, but can overwrite live balance and move the weekly reset date.

%
Banked resets are usable for 30 days after grant; this calculates that deadline locally.
Add a grant date or the exact expiry shown by your account.
hold reassess at the block

KEEP IT UNTIL THE BLOCK

Use the current window before overwriting it.

Redeem when the reset unlocks a task that cannot wait, or before the actual expiry shown by your account.

banked reset deadline not set Add a grant date or account expiry.

Best default: spend live balance first; bank the reset until real need.

transparent model

What “default pace” actually means

The baseline is simply the share of the seven-day window already elapsed—not a hidden OpenAI quota number.

01

Immediate gain

quota restored = quota used

If 80% was used, a full reset immediately restores 80 percentage points.

02

Clock cost

clock delay = week elapsed

If 30% of the week had passed, the next weekly reset moves back by about 30% of a week.

03

Net pace edge

used % − elapsed %

Positive means usage was running ahead of time; negative means the reset was early.

evidence boundary

The calculator does not assume “secret usage”

Reports of mismatched limits and fast depletion exist, but this tool does not claim to know an unpublished metering formula. It uses the percentage and timestamp that your own Codex surface shows, then exposes every assumption.
